Yes — every Component on Alt+Shift+X is an AI-powered tool. When you install and use a Component, you are interacting with an artificial intelligence system.
They are AI systems — not humans. If you ask any platform agent directly whether it is a human or an AI, it will truthfully identify itself as AI. Our agents are not designed to deceive users about their nature.
No. AI outputs are probabilistic and can be wrong. Nothing generated by any Component constitutes professional advice. Always have a qualified human professional review AI outputs before using them for consequential decisions in regulated domains.
Yes. Like all current AI systems, Components can produce outputs that sound confident but are factually incorrect. Always verify important facts independently.
— Refunds & Cancellations
Yes. Cancel any subscription at any time from your account dashboard under Billing & Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access until then and won't be charged again.
Subscription fees are generally non-refundable because digital access is delivered immediately. We do issue refunds for: billing errors, unauthorized charges, and sustained Platform-side technical failures. We don't refund for change of mind, dissatisfaction with AI output quality, or failure to cancel before renewal.

A Verified Rating is a quality score assigned by the Alt+Shift+X platform team — not crowdsourced from the public. Before any component goes live in the marketplace, it goes through a structured editorial and governance review covering:
This score is displayed with a ✅ badge so you always know it comes from our team, not an anonymous reviewer.
Yes. Once you install a component, you can leave a verified review. Your rating is averaged in alongside the platform score. Only verified purchasers (active InstalledComponent holders) can submit reviews — no fake or unverified reviews.
On most marketplaces, ratings can be gamed — fake reviews, review-bombing, self-submissions. Our Verified Rating system means every score you see on launch day is real, earned, and editorially accountable. As the community grows, buyer reviews layer on top and enrich the signal.
Payment & Billing
How does billing work?
Alt+Shift+X components are sold as monthly subscriptions. You are billed on the same day each month from the date of your first purchase. All payments are processed securely through Stripe.
What payment methods are accepted? All major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover) via Stripe. PayPal is supported for select components.
Where can I see my invoices? All invoices are available in your account dashboard under Billing.
Can I change my plan? Yes. Upgrade or downgrade at any time from your dashboard. Changes take effect at the next billing cycle.
Sanctions Compliance
Does Alt+Shift+X screen for sanctioned parties?
Yes. Alt+Shift+X operates a three-layer sanctions compliance program:
Payment processor screening — All transactions are processed through Stripe, which independently screens every payment against the OFAC Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) List and EU Consolidated Sanctions List at point of payment. Sanctioned party transactions are blocked automatically at the processor level.
Pre-purchase acknowledgment — Every marketplace purchase requires a buyer to affirmatively confirm they are not subject to sanctions under OFAC, EU, UK OFSI, UN, or any NATO-aligned program. This creates a per-transaction legal record.
Terms of Service — Our Terms of Service include a binding Export Controls & Sanctions Compliance section that prohibits access by sanctioned parties at the point of account creation.
Sales are prohibited to individuals and entities in sanctioned countries including Russia, Belarus, North Korea, Iran, Syria, Cuba, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine, as well as to any party on the OFAC SDN List, EU Consolidated Sanctions List, UK Financial Sanctions List, or equivalent NATO-aligned lists.
